The Black Panther Party is frequently misrepresented and misunderstood. In this talk, moderated by Rutland Area NAACP president Mia Schultz and vice president Alana Harte, Ed.D, Vermont students and educators discuss the Party’s 10-Point Program, which laid out the needs and demands that they wanted to communicate to members, the government, and the world; how those points are situated in history; and how they relate to society today.
