BIPOC Financial Empowerment Program 2026

As a member of the Building Equity Collaborative, we are a proud partner of The BIPOC Financial Empowerment program. Led by Ana Mejia, founder of Cultivemos Alegria, this program is designed to provide Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) with the knowledge, tools, resources and coaching to support your financial wellbeing. 

We’re excited to relaunch the BIPOC Financial Empowerment Program this spring with new opportunities to learn, connect, and grow.

What’s Coming This Year

We’re planning a range of offerings designed to support your financial journey, including:

1) Monthly Virtual Office Hours

Join us for live, interactive sessions hosted on Zoom each month. These office hours are designed to be supportive, practical, and community-driven.

During each session, you can:

  • Ask questions (live or submitted in advance—anonymously if you prefer)
  • Get guidance on real-life financial decisions and tasks
  • Share progress and celebrate wins with others
  • Receive support tied to that month’s financial topic
  • Hear from community members about their financial journey’s

Virtual office hours will be held on the fourth Thursday of each month until October from 6-7pm on Zoom.

  • Thursday, May 28th, 6-7pm
  • Thursday, June 25th, 6-7pm
  • Thursday, July 23rd, 6-7pm
  • Thursday, August 27th, 6-7pm
  • Thursday, September 24th, 6-7pm
  • Thursday, October 22nd, 6-7pm

Each month will be centered on specific topics including: Homeownership, Investing, Retirement, Taxes, Credit, & Entrepreneurship. These topics were selected based on the most popular topics chosen in our pre-launch survey. Have a financial question? We’ve got you covered.

Submit your questions through our “Ask Ana” form or social media for a chance to be featured in our communications, including newsletters like Roots and partner updates.

Think of it as your go-to space for real questions and real answers—no judgment.

3) Financial Empowerment Awards

Participants in the program will have the opportunity to apply for Financial Empowerment Awards. More details on eligibility and application timelines will be shared soon—stay tuned!
