Those who follow our Facebook page or local politics have likely heard that Vermont’s only Black woman representative, Kiah Morris, has withdrawn from her uncontested race to represent Bennington following months of racially-charged harassment and threats.
As all of this comes to a head and Kiah prepares to take legal action regarding the matter, her husband James is undergoing a triple bypass surgery, making it even more difficult for them to support their family.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise funds to cover legal fees and living expenses as Kiah fights this hate and cares for her husband during his 3-month recovery period. Every donation helps.
