BIPOC Financial Empowerment Program updates

Exciting updates from the BIPOC Financial Empowerment Program, sponsored by the Rutland Area NAACP. The website is now updated with upcoming workshop dates, check it out at www.webuildequity.org/calendar. All workshops are virtual via zoom and require advanced registration. Childcare stipends are available to help offset childcare expenses. Their next English workshop “Debt to Abundance”  will be Saturday, August 3rd, 11am-1pm (Register here). Erika Dox-Martinez of Bli$$ful Vida will talk about ways we can liberate ourselves from debt and illuminate a path towards financial freedom. 

They are also rolling out Financial Empowerment Scholarships (up to $100) and Financial Empowerment Awards (up to $500) to support individuals in achieving their financial goals. 

The Scholarships can be used to cover direct expenses associated with Homebuyer Education, Small business training, professional development, 1:1 career/small business coaching, etc. Expenses will be paid directly to the provider of the education/professional development opportunity. Scholarship eligibility terms are outlined in the scholarship form
